How to Insert code

1. Enter all the replacements that you would like to make:

1. Enter the text to insert in the textbox labeled “Text to insert”.

2. Enter the text that marks the position of where the text must be inserted in the textbox labeled “Insert text where…”. The text can be inserted after or before this text mark. The text used as a mark can be a Perl 5 regular expression and can also be case sensitive.

3. Check whether the text is going to be inserted after the found expression. When the insert after text? is unchecked, the text will be inserted before the the found expression.

4. Check whether the expression is a regular expression and/or whether the expression is case sensitive. Checking for new line and beginning of line characters or checking for text spawning over multiple lines may not work because the replacement are made line by line, please don't use them in when entering regular expressions.

5. Click on the file filter to use when replacing. To replace on all the files in the entered in Files choose All files. To replace on all the files from the Files field which names match a certain regular expression click on Use regex mask. Finally, to replace on all the files the Files field that have certain extensions click on Use comma separated extensions list and then enter all the extensions to match separated by a comma.

   

2. Enter the absolute path to all the files to make replacements on. To browse for a file or files click on Browse. The paths must be separated by a new line character.

3. Click on Insert Text! button to start making the insertions. A window will pop up showing you the results of the insertions. Any files that the program successfully processed are taken away from the Files text area. Any files that the program was not able to process will remain in the Files text area.

How to replace text

1. Enter all the replacements that you would like to make:

   1. Enter the expression to find in the find box.

   2. Check whether the expression is a regular expression and/or whether the expression is case sensitive. Checking for new line and beginning of line characters or checking for text spawning over multiple lines may not work because the replacement are made line by line, please don't use them when entering regular expressions.

   3. Enter the expression to use to replace the found expression. You may use regular expressions here too.

   4. Click on Add to add the replacement. To change a replacement click on its row, change the fields above the table and then click Change. To remove a replacement click on its row and then click on Remove.

2. Click on the file filter to use when replacing. To replace on all the files in the entered in Files choose All files.
