INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSINSTALLING A (TROI) PLUG-IN FOR THE FIRST TIME.NEW Starting with FileMaker Pro 12 a plug-in can be installed directly from a container field! So if you are using FileMaker Pro 12 installation is very easy: just open the "All Grabber Examples.fmp12" example file and the startup script will install the plug-in for you. See also the example file EasyInstallTroiPlugins.fmp12 (which is included in our .fmp12 formatted download package) which contains the actual plug-in and install script. To install the plug-in for FileMaker Pro 9 to 11 follow these instructions:
You may want to install other plug-ins before proceeding.
Then (re)start FileMaker Pro. Troi Grabber Plug-in will
display a dialog box, indicating that it is loading and
showing the registration status. You can now open the file
"All Grabber Examples.fp7" to see how to use the plug-in's
functions. What Troi Grabber Plug-in can do for youThe Grabber functions make it possible to preview a live video image, for example from a webcam, on the FileMaker layout. With a click the user can grab the image, and have it saved into a container field. You can also record movies and save them to disk. FileMaker requirementsFileMaker Pro 10 or FileMaker Pro Advanced 10 or higher. * NOTE Troi Grabber Plug-in will probably run fine with earlier FileMaker versions 7 to 9, but we have not tested these earlier FileMaker versions and we do not provide support for this. Also note that the example files use features only available in FileMaker Pro 9 and higher. Troi Grabber Plug-in version 2.x does not run on versions prior to FileMaker Pro 7. If you need to run on versions prior to FileMaker Pro 7: see our web site for Troi Grabber Plug-in 1.5. Also note that Troi Grabber Plug-in, with older FileMaker versions, will probably run on older operating systems for example Mac OS X 10.3.9 or Windows 2000, however, we do not support this. NOTE 2 Troi Grabber Plug-in can NOT be used by FileMaker Server as a server-side plug-in or as a plug-in used by the web publishing engine, as the plug-in requires Graphic User Interface (GUI), which is not possible on FileMaker Server. Troi Grabber Plug-in is a commercial productYou can try-before-you-buy. This means that you are free and invited to test the plug-in 30 days before you pay. You may also make copies of the original and complete package (including this Read Me file) and distribute it to customers, friends etc. However, you may not distribute a modified or licensed version. Use Troi Grabber Plug-in at your own riskAlthough Troi Grabber Plug-in was tested carefully, we can not be responsible for any damages resulting from using this software. Also please try it out on a test database. Your system may be using an extension (unknown to us) that interferes with the proper functioning of Troi Grabber Plug-in. What are the costs?Troi Grabber Plug-in is more expensive than our other plug-ins, as it is a specialized plug-in, with a limited customer base. We currently only sell a cross-platform developer license which allows you to deploy it with your solution, both on Mac OS X and on Windows:
